Introduction:
Concept Design aka Entertainment design is one of the industry’s newest fields, as well as one of the fastest rising fields. According to a California-based entertainment company, entertainment design was created in response to “the rise of computer graphics and digital technologies in recent years.” Entertainment Design incorporates elements of all areas of animation as well as character design, film design, graphic design, motion graphic design, transportation design, user interface design, and product design.
Course Summary:
The concept artist specializing in environment design creates art as per instructions to support the creative production processes. He/She is responsible for producing sketches and/or artwork based on given briefs, reference, inspiration as well as direct client's orders etc.
In this course learners will create concept art to enable the visualisation of environments/backgrounds and even high vision illustrations as per production requirements for games, animated films or visual effects for live-action films. Learners will also tap on creative storytelling abilities to create mood boards, story boards, sketches and visual narratives.
