Introduction:
Entertainment design is one of the industry’s newest fields, as well as one of the fastest rising fields. According to a California-based entertainment company, entertainment design was created in response to “the rise of computer graphics and digital technologies in recent years.” Entertainment Design incorporates elements of all areas of animation as well as character design, film design, graphic design, motion graphic design, transportation design, user interface design, and product design.
Course Summary:
In this module, Students will work together with instructors and be mentored to create their universe and original intellectual property for the art and entertainment industry. Students will spend the time in this module to create documents, and artwork and art bibles using industry practices for IP creation. Students will also experience real world pressure in these tight deadlines, and will have their instructors acting as art directors in the modules and be graded at the end, where they will present industry quality work that fulfills criteria for the field they want to specialize in.
Course Details:
The Advanced Professional Certificate Course in Entertainment Design is set up by Jimmy Ling, the ex-Program Director for Mages's leading programs like Illustration courses and diploma syllabus. He also helped spearheaded syllabus and modules for Singapore Polytechnic in the past.
In this new certificate program with Lionheart Studio, Jimmy have infused and revised the lesson plans to reflect the current industry's practices and the leading classes found not only in international online concept schools but also from his degrees from Academy of Art(SA) where he specialized in Illustration, as well as his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Entertainment Design created by John English and his renowned team of lecturers from many prestigious companies like Pixar and many game studios. You will find the modules to be highly professional and modular, with intense study and homework to be similar to an actual diploma or degree. Special Guest Artists from renowned industries will also be engaged to impart and share their workflow periodically specially for Lionheart Prodigies.

Jim aka Dreadjim sparked off with a diploma in Digital Media Design and started off an art director in the advertising industry for a year at TNBT, then moved on to freelancing for various small and big names since 10 years ago.
Today, he heads Lionheart Studio working with luminous brands like Tudor, Wacom, Lenovo in the creative, edutainment and design sector.

Scope Focus: 1 Stylized character, 1 Semi-real and 1 Hyper real Portrait
This will test and put to focus the artist’s diverse set of skills learnt as well as put together all needed resources and skills to create the most polished artworks for portfolio and presentation.

Scope Focus: 1 epic fantasy & 1 Sci-fi environment
This will test and put to focus the artist’s diverse set of skills learnt as well as put together all needed resources and skills to create the most polished artworks for portfolio and presentation.

Creature Design Focus
Scope Focus: 1 Original Creature Design & 1 Unique Boss Monster
This will require the student to put in all his ideas, from the lessons learnt and his entire visual library put together, to create engaging and interesting creature designs that will capture the attention of the viewer. Students will learn what does it takes to create unique designs in our saturated world of creatures out in the entertainment world.

Machines and Vehicular Focus
Scope Focus: 1 Concept Vehicle Design & 1 Robotic mech Design
This focus sees the student going through his knowledge of perspective and machine construction to create two believable and sophisticated machine/equipment that will require the student to think through function and design, resulting in a calculating and mental focused skill in concept design.

Basic and Advanced Art, digital tools and drawing/painting skills
