Digital Art: Basic concept art Design Course
Entertainment design is one of the industry’s newest fields, as well as one of the fastest rising fields. According to a California-based entertainment company, entertainment design was created in response to “the rise of computer graphics and digital technologies in recent years.” Entertainment Design incorporates elements of all areas of animation as well as character design, film design, graphic design, motion graphic design, transportation design, user interface design, and product design.
The Basic Concept Art Design Course is meant for students who may have some access to digital art before, but wishes to take it to the next level. We do this by imparting classical art fundamentals through digital art from drawing in digital art, using the tools in Photoshop, as well as talk about warm vs cool colors in the studio- to the start of the basis of Entertainment Design and what it entails.
Students will have an exciting time both in the problem-solving and creativity components of digital art because they will be challenged in a series of different topics to create and paint to their liking. They will leave the course feeling intrigued as well as finding new passions to draw upon.
Students will start with the fundamentals of art, as well as digital art, getting acquainted with the tools and hardware before starting on their new assignments.
They will proceed to create character designs with lots of story-writing, creative input from themselves, as well as their peers and the instructor. They will learn how to research, use references, connections and techniques to achieve their dream character.
They will then be tasked to create a creature design where we will be exploring thumbnails, rendering methods and textures. They will also learn about custom shapes and how to utilize it with ease on all sorts of projects.
The final assignment will be the environment design where students will learn how to composite a scene, use advanced methods like cloning, photobashing, texture layering and more to complete the majestic scene at the end.
